Toe Setup Guide

Toe is the angle the tires are rotated around their vertical axis, looking at them from above the car. You have no toe if the tires are parallel to each other, along the direction of the car. You have toe-in when the tires point in towards each other, and toe-out when they point away from each other

What is the reaction of the car on turn in?

MINOR UNDERSTEER

  • Increase front toe-out

TURNS IN OK

  • All is fine!

MINOR OVERSTEER

  • Decrease front toe-out

Is the car “floating” on the straights?

YES

  • Decrease front toe-out

NO

  • Increase front toe-out

SLIGHTLY

  • The front toe is OK

UNDER CONTROL

  • The rear toe is OK

MINOR OVERSTEER ON POWER

  • Increase the rear toe-in
